Volunteer Experience in Japan: Sofia ― 1 month Living in Shuzenji

As you can see from the photos below, Shuzenji and the surrounding area are incredibly beautiful.
But more than anything, the people were the biggest reason I truly came to love this place.

At Hostel Knot, I first met Ryōhei and Jamie as a guest, and later had the chance to stay and work with them as a volunteer. Thank you so much for all your help, for teaching me Japanese, and for making me feel so welcome!

At honohono cafe, I met the owner, Nagisa, and her family. We became very close, and they have always treated me with such warmth, almost as if I were part of their family.

At Wagahai, such a cozy place where you can enjoy delicious food. The couple who run it are incredibly kind, and you can feel the care they put into every little detail of the restaurant.

At Nayuta, the owner, Shintarō, would always stop to have a friendly chat with me, and thanks to him, I also discovered some wonderful music.

At Iizuka, Yuuki always made me laugh, and I had many opportunities to meet and connect with local people.
