I spent an amazing August in Shuzenji volunteering at Hostel Knot!
It was a month full of adventures, with earthquakes, a megaquake advisory, a typhoon, and the craziest heat and humidity I’ve ever experienced. Despite all that, I still had such a wonderful time. Ryohey and Jamie made sure I had everything I needed and always made me feel safe and welcome.
Exploring places around Izu, including Mishima, Atami, and Ito, was so much fun, especially because I got to share those experiences with the two other amazing volunteers.
I’m really grateful for this experience, especially getting to try on a yukata and watch the fireworks! These are memories I’ll always cherish.
