Hostel Knot offers a Female Dormitory exclusively for female guests.
In recent years, especially during busy periods such as weekends and holiday seasons, we have had an increasing number of male guests accidentally booking the Female Dormitory without realizing that it is a female-only room.
Even if you did not notice that the room was female-only when making your reservation, we generally cannot offer free cancellation or a refund after the reservation has been confirmed on the grounds that you were unaware of the room type or did not check the room details.
Please Check Before Making Your Reservation
On all booking platforms used by Hostel Knot,
「Female Dormitory」,
room type is clearly listed.
Please note that the Female Dormitory is
available to guests of any gender only when
the entire dormitory is booked as a private group.
In other words, male guests cannot stay in the Female Dormitory together with other female guests.
When making your reservation, please be sure to check the Room Type, not just the price, before completing your booking.
If a Male Guest Books the Female Dormitory
If we notice that a male guest has booked the Female Dormitory when reviewing the reservation, Hostel Knot will do our best to contact the guest as soon as possible.
If the reservation is still within the free cancellation period specified by the booking platform, we will contact the guest as early as possible so they can consider changing their reservation to another room type or cancelling their reservation.
However, once the free cancellation period has passed, or if the reservation is made shortly before check-in, we are unable to waive cancellation fees at our discretion.
In such cases, if the guest does not check in, the reservation may be processed as a No-show in accordance with the booking platform’s policies.
Can I Change to a Different Room on the Day of Check-in?
We sometimes receive inquiries such as,
“Could I change to another room if there is availability on the day of check-in?”
However, especially on weekends, public holidays, and during busy periods, we are often fully booked or have very limited availability.
Therefore,
the chances of being able to arrange a different room on the day of check-in are very low.
For this reason, please do not make a reservation on the assumption that “I can change to another room if one is available on the day.”
Whether we can change your room depends on availability at the time.
Please note that we cannot guarantee or promise that a room change will be possible.
