修善寺温泉場のお寺の境内や桂川の川沿い、修善寺もみじ林や虹の郷の庭園など、修善寺は伊豆半島随一のもみじの群生地です。半島の内陸で山に囲まれているので、冷たい空気が溜まりやすく色づきも綺麗なんだそうです。

虹の郷

紅葉の時期になると毎年虹の郷では「もみじライトアップ」が行われてます。約2000本の紅葉が夜になると幻想的な雰囲気が味わえます。ライトアップは16時〜21時の間されて、夜間入場可能になります。池の周りをぐるっと歩くコースは、たくさんのもみじを楽しむことができます。

もみじ林も約1000本の紅葉が紅葉群生林がある修善寺自然公園は大正13年（1924年）町制施行記念に植樹されたものです。もみじ林からは富士山も見れるので、鮮やかに染めてある紅葉と一緒に楽しめます。
