A Japanese BBQ restaurant, located near the entrance of Shuzenji Onsen.
The key reason to why Shokudōen is popular is because the restaurant is directly managed by a butcher shop.
The restaurant gets busy during the weekends, only has about 6 tables (zashiki-style),
so please call ahead before arriving.
Mom and pop are the only ones running the restaurant,
so please give them some time so that they can prepare your order.
The Shokudōen in front of Shuzenji station is runned by the same family, just different generation.
Not only are there many appetizers,
but there are also many special appetizers such as “chicken karaage” flavored with salted ramen
and “beef dice steak with wasabi” where you can grade your own wasabi.
That’s one of the reasons for its popularity.
Enjoy the local atmosphere and ingredients of Izu all at once.
