Call for Participants: Spring Traditional Ceremony “Yukumi-shiki”
What is "Yukumi-shiki"?
The “Yukumi-shiki” (Hot Spring Water Drawing Ceremony) is a traditional spring ritual that honors the history of Shuzenji Onsen and expresses gratitude for the blessings of its hot springs. Participants dressed in white ceremonial attire form a procession through the town and attend a prayer service at the main hall of the temple.
While it is a public cultural event, it is also a solemn ceremony deeply rooted in the local community. Each year, many people take part as a unique cultural experience found only in Shuzenji Onsen.
Why not join us for this special spring day that brings the town to life?
