Join the Traditional Spring Kobo Memorial Festival in Shuzenji Onsen!

The Spring Kobo Memorial Festival is a cherished annual event in Shuzenji Onsen, held every April 20th and 21st.
We are currently looking for participants to join two special cultural experiences on April 21st (Monday)!

Join the 【Traditional Mikoshi Procession】

When?:     April 21st (Mon)11:30~15:30
Eligibility:   Men, 18 years and older
Fee:  Free
Location:Please arrive at Shuzenji Temple Parishioners' Hall (964 Shuzenji, Izu City) by 11:30 AM.
Event Info:You will carry the mikoshi and walk approximately 4.6 km from Oku-no-in to the main hall of Shuzenji Temple.
Note:Free lunch/White Garment Rental Available

Be a 【Yukumi Musume】and Wear a Beautiful Kimono!

When?:April 21st (Mon) 10:00~15:30
Eligibility:Women (No age limit!)
Fee:Free
Event Info:Kimono dressing starts at 10:00~, Gather in front of the main hall at 13:00, Procession departs at 13:30, Prayer ceremony at the main hall at 15:00, Dismissal around 15:30
Info:The necessary items for kimono dressing will be provided by the Tourism Association, but...
MUST:Please have your makeup done in advance and style your hair appropriately to match the kimono.

Important Notice

The event will be covered by media, and photos/videos may be shared on TV, social media, and promotional materials by the Tourism Association.

Why not immerse yourself in Japanese tradition and experience a festival like a local? This is a rare opportunity to take part in an authentic Shuzenji Onsen festival, surrounded by history, culture, and warm hospitality.
